The Dandridge Fire Department celebrated 2015 with a party on January 16, 2016. During the celebration the award for Firefighter of the Year would be given. Firefighter Brian Poole a native of Green County, TN would accept the award. Poole began his volunteer career in 2007 with the Green County Volunteer Rescue Squad. In November 2014 Brian wanted to broaden his emergency service career and joined the Dandridge Fire Department. Poole wasted no time and jumped strait into the 2015 Recruit School (Jefferson City Fire Department Jefferson City, TN) and earned his Black Helmet in May of 2015. With the completion of rookie school Brian was able to pass the following certification tests given by the Tennessee Commission on Firefighting.

Hazardous Material Operations
Firefighter I
Firefighter II
After speaking with Brian we asked; what do you see for 2016? Poole stated ” with working full time at Lisega in Kodak, TN and making several business trips to Germany it will be hard to but I would like to be an instructor. But with anything more training and more tests are involved. The TARS Instructor certification in EVOC, VKF, Bloodborne Pathogens and vehicle extrication is what I will be pursuing for 2016.”
The DFD congratulates Brian Poole on his 2015 Firefighter of the Year.
