A long journey for Dandridge Volunteer Firefighter Chris Borchert has come to an end. Chris made an impact on his fellow class mates by being chosen as the class Battalion Chief and was given the opportunity to address his class at the graduation ceremony. Chris not only was chosen as a leader but set the bar high. The Tennessee Commission on Firefighting Hazardous Materials Awareness, Hazardous Materials Operations, Firefighter I Practical and Firefighter I test was given and Chris passed all test on the first attempt.
May 26, 2016 marked the graduation of the 264 hour recruit school hosted by neighboring Jefferson City Fire Department. Chris will now wear the number of Firefighter 762 with the DFD.
Tower 7 returned from the graphics shop on May 13, 2016. The new graphics includes NFPA 1901 requirements such as the reflective stripes on the knuckle of the boom and all interior door markings. The main stripe is reflective red with a lower and upper non reflective black stripe. Also included with the graphics is the newly adopted DFD patch which shows off the landscape of the Dandridge area. DFD Fire Chief stated ” we are shooting for a first of the month (June) in service date depending on equipment arrival.” DFD operators are in the process of training to drive and operate the 2005 EOne 114′ Bronto.
