2018 Fire Fatalities Summary

  • 55 fatalities in 42 fatal incidents
  • 7 multiple fatality fires, including two fires that killed 4+ people
  • Cause unknown in 57% of the fires
  • Heating caused 17% of the fires.
  • 40% of the victims were over the age of 65
  • 18% of the victims were over the age of 75
  • Smoke alarms not present (or knknown) in 76% of fires
